HELP ME, Pretty Please????

Hello blog world!
I am working on two painting projects right now and need your help! Any and all help you can give me is very appreciated and is welcomed!

So... here's the deal... consider this an online creative meeting... throw out your ideas and I promise they will not be criticized.

I need you to tell me what you think of when you hear/see/read the word "thought" - it can be as taken as literally or abstractly as you'd like. Just give me anything...

Also ...
I need you to tell me what you think of when you hear/see/read the word "soul"- again can be literal or abstract

...it can be a name, a picture, a person, a verse, an image, a word, a definition, a story, any random thing, a piece of art...anything... just be creative and be yourself...

Oh please, please, please, pretty please..... oh and thank you very much!

Hmm, with "thought" I think of a steaming cup of coffee. Perhaps because I've had some of the deepest, most introspective conversations over a cup of coffee.

"Soul" is harder for me. I guess I think of eternity, but I don't really have a strong mental picture to associate with it. Anyway, hope this helps some. Good luck with the paintings!

Em, I couldn't help but think of Albert Einstein saying that he looks out the window 80% of the time, simply thinking.

He was pretty smart!

soul- guess i'm not super spiritual but i think of like super soul food. weaver d's style "automatic" and of soul/gospel music in a small church with big stained glass windows.

thought-i think of a puff of smoke
soul-i think of someone sweating and crying at the same time, and hunched over like his abdomen is pinching his hand

"thought"- sitting on the beach looking into the horizon at about 5 in the afternoon. I do a lot of clear thinking during that time.
"soul"- heaven- my soul's final resting place

Thinking always makes me think of the famous statue of the thinker, and little people sticking out their tongues because they are concentrating so hard...
And Soul, usually makes me think of a crazy picture my mom has on her wall near the bathroom that has a story something about a plumber who found "it" (a soul) in the pipes and said the "i" could have it and that "i'd" be surprised what people loose.

Okay, I thought about this for a while and here's what I've come up with...

Thought: makes me think of when Kayla asked me where she was in a picture of me and Brian from our wedding. I told her she wasn't born yet, and she told me, "I know, I was a wish, wasn't I?" So I guess a thought makes me think of something that will be.

Soul: makes me think of who or what something is on the inside. It's what makes something what it is. Almost like a "what's under the mask" concept.

Hope this helps...

its funny that you needed ideas for "thought" and that i randomly received an email from you. i havent thought about my art in the same sense, lately. my thoughts stray towards food! and pastries! and my thoughts think that everyone thinks about food, because food is life. food is sustaining yourself for greater things and ideas and "thoughts" to come. thought is tied in with your entire being, it makes you who you are no matter what you are physically. and soul...
do these tie in together? i think! thought is like your soul. if your thoughts make you who you are, and your soul is the very depth of your being, then they are definitely related. i read a book called "yearning for the wind" by tom cowan that thoroughly discussed the nature of souls (along with irish myths, and faeries, and so on). and i agree with him-- essentially, your soul is not only part of you, but reaches towards the very ends of the earth, therefore, the trees, the land, other people, your family, they are part of your soul. when you do great things for the people and places around you, you are actually healing you own soul. and likewise, everything is interrelated. the universe conspires the help you (that was from "the alchemist" by paulo coehlo) so, when you eat a fantastic pastry and contemplate the deeper things in life, you are building the soul of the world in every way imaginable.

i hope this helps. it is great to hear from you. maybe i will have to work on expanding my art beyond chocolate tortes and back to charcoals and canvases...
